As you suspected, I put it out there to divert attention from the diary I am preparing to submit, which is about the rebirth of modern conservatism that happened c1953, and the roles of Russell Kirk, William F Buckley, the National Review magazine, Barry Goldwater, and Ronald Reagan (and at least mentioning Rossiter, Strauss, Hayek, and Friedman).
Not being sure our crack censors might not shoot it down (as it speaks VERY negatively of Frank Meyer), I thought I'd run out some standard myDD material to distract.
